Tysabri and Arthritis Side Effects

Tysabri (generic name natalizumab), is a medicine for patients who have a relapsing form of MS multiple sclerosis. It is/was used to reduce the amount of relapses. Tysabri was FDA approved in November 2004 for MS, but later withdrawn in February 2005. In June 2006, it was reintroduced to treat relapsing forms of MS.

Tysabri and arthritis side effects were being studied, because there was a considerable enthusiasm as a potential treatment for Crohn’s disease and rheumatoid arthritis. But the study was stopped after the withdrawn of the FDA in 2005. The FDA voted unanimously to recommend reintroduction of Tysabri as a treatment for relapsing forms of MS but not for renewed studies for rheumatoid Arthritis. Tysabri and arthritis side effects are not known.
